Configuration PP: Customized by you!

Description

Not only does PP Programmable configuration come with default settings that work perfectly with many effects boxes, but PP Programmable configuration also allows you to program the FCB1010 settings in an easy & intuitive way. You can program:

  • MIDI Control Change number, MIDI Channel, & Type (On/Off or On/On) for each pedal in EF mode

  • MIDI Control Change number & MIDI Channel for each Expression Pedal

  • LED Polarity for EF Mode (LED On when CC value = 127, or LED On when CC value = 0)

  • MIDI Control Change prefix and 7-Segment Display Offset for Program Changes

  • Latch (CC#v0/127) or Momentary (CC#v127) mode for the FCB1010 switch relays

So not only can you customize the EurekaPROM-enabled FCB1010 to work with any single MIDI device, with programmable multi-MIDI Channel capability you can control multiple MIDI devices simultaneously!

Overview

Five Modes, easily switched between using the Up/Down pedals:

  • Effects Mode: Turn individual effects on/off in stompbox-like fashion, with state reflected on the pedal LED

  • Presets Mode: Easily enter presets 0-127, banks 0-9. Up to 1270 presets!

  • Favorite Presets Mode: Allows you to store & recall your 10 favorite presets with the push of a pedal!

  • Specials Mode: Control the FCB1010 relays and send MIDI notes!

  • Effects & Presets Mode: Access Effects mode pedals 1-5 & Favorite Presets pedals 6-10 in one layout

Expression Pedals programmable for wah & volume, or whatever you choose. MIDI activity LED. And waterproof labels!

Modes

Switch between modes with UP/DOWN pedals.

1) EF: Effects

Notes:

  • Turn Effects on/off!

  • Supports 1 MIDI cable (FCB MIDI out-to-Effects processor MIDI in).

  • LEDs do not automatically update, but they still have state, three in fact: off, on, blip (for unknown effects state).

  • The CC#'s listed above are the defaults - you can change them to any CC#.

2) Pr: Presets

Notes:

  • Enter MIDI Channel, Banks 0-9 & '-' (for no preceding bank), & Presets 0-127.

    • Select MIDI Channel with Pedals 1 & 6. 1C - 16C shown in 7-segment display.

    • Select Banks with Pedals 2 & 7. b0-b9, b- displayed in 7-segment display.

    • Use Pedals 3-8 & 7-9 to select specific preset. Displayed in 7-segment display.

  • Press Pedal 5 to send the MIDI Program Change command.

  • With Pedal 10 on, a Program Change command is sent with each preset/bank change. With Pedal 10 off, Pedal 5 must be pressed for the Program Change command to be sent.

  • Default preceding bank is CC#0, value = bank#. You can change the default value from 0.

3) FP: Favorite Presets

Notes:

  • Store 10 of your favorite Presets for 1 press recall!

  • To store a Preset:

    • In Pr mode, select preset via the EurekaPROM-enabled FCB1010.

    • Press & Hold the UP pedal until the 7-segment display begins to flash FP.

    • Press the pedal you wish to store the Preset. The 7-segment display will flash when stored.

  • To recall a Preset, press and release the pedal of your choice.

4) SP: Specials

Notes:

  • Default for switches is toggle. You can change to momentary operation.

5) EP: Effects & Presets

Notes:

  • To get to EP mode:

    • Go to EF mode.

    • Press & Hold the UP pedal until both the EFfects LED & Favorite Presets LED are both lit.

  • Pedals 1-5 are from EFfects mode.

  • Pedals 6-10 are from FP mode.

MIDI Activity LED

  • The LED is on when MIDI is sent, off otherwise.

PP Configuration Programming

Here are the steps to program the PP configuration. Yes, it’s long, and kinda like an IRS form, but just follow the steps to completion and you’ll be fine. Note that you can just push Pedal 5 to keep the currently stored value (defaults listed above) - no need to select and enter every single parameter.

  1. Enter Programming Mode

    1. Hold down Pedals 7 & 10 on power up.

  2. Setup EF mode pedals 1-10

    1. 7-segment display will show “EF” to signify Effects mode programming, and pedal 5 LED should be flashing.

      1. Press pedal 5 to continue.

    2. Pedals 1-10

      1. The 7-segment display will show the pedal number (“P1”, “P2”, etc. to “P0”)

        1. Press pedal 5 to continue.

      2. Display should show "ty" for pedal type.

        1. Use the UP/DOWN pedals to select the pedal type (0-1) that will be sent in EF mode for that pedal. (0=Toggle (0/127), 1=Momentary(127))

        2. Press pedal 5 to lock in that selection.

      3. Display should show "Ch" for MIDI channel.

        1. Use the UP/DOWN pedals to select the Channel number (1-16) that will be sent in EF mode for that pedal.

        2. Press pedal 5 to lock in that selection.

      4. Display should show "CC" for MIDI Continuous Control number.

        1. Use the UP/DOWN pedals to select the CC number (0-127) that will be sent in EF mode for that pedal.

        2. Press pedal 5 to lock in that selection.

      5. Repeat from 2.b.i until done with the last pedal

  3. Setup the Expression Pedals

    1. Expression pedal configuration (Ea & Eb)

      1. Display should now read "Ea" (for Expression pedal A)

        1. Press pedal 5 to continue.

      2. Display should show "Ch" for MIDI channel.

        1. Use the UP/DOWN pedals to select the Channel number (1-16) that will be sent when that Expression Pedal is used.

        2. Press pedal 5 to lock in that selection.

      3. Display should show "CC" for MIDI Continuous Controller number.

        1. Use the UP/DOWN pedals to select the CC number (0-127) that will be sent when that Expression Pedal is used

        2. Press pedal 5 to lock in that selection

      4. Repeat from 3.a.i for "Eb" (for Expression pedal B)

  4. Choose Pedal LED polarity. Options are normal (CC#:v0 = off/CC#:v127 = on), or inverted (CC#:v127 = off/CC#:v0 = on).

    1. The 7-segment display will show “LE”

      1. Use the UP/DOWN pedals to select “0” for normal or “1” inverted

        1. Press pedal 5 to lock in that selection.

  5. Setup Pr mode

    1. The 7-segment display should now read “Pr” to signify Preset mode programming.

      1. Press pedal 5 to continue.

      2. Pr Prefix configuration (Pr)

      3. Display should show "CC" for MIDI Continuous Controller number.

        1. Use the Up and Down pedals to select the CC number (0-127) that will be sent before any Preset change in Pr mode

        2. Press pedal 5 to lock in that selection.

    2. Pr Offset (OF)

      1. Display should now read “OF” (Offset)

        1. Use the Up and Down pedals to select offset of 0 (Program changes that start from 0) or 1 (Program changes that start from 1)

        2. Press pedal 5 to lock in that selection.

  6. Setup SP mode

    1. The 7-segment display should now read “SP”

      1. Press pedal 5 to continue.

    2. Relay Configuration

      1. Display should now read "S1" (Switch 1)

        1. Use the Up and Down pedals to select whether the Switch will be in toggle (0) or momentary (1) mode

        2. Press pedal 5 to lock in that selection

      2. Repeat from 6.b.i for “S2” (Switch 2)
